Juniper To Buy Novotel Imagicaa
Juniper Hotels Limited signed a binding memorandum of understanding on 5 October 2026 to buy Novotel Imagicaa at Khopoli, Maharashtra, from Imagicaaworld Entertainment Limited. The total consideration is ₹248 crore, subject to tax, stamp duty and other adjustments. The hotel sits on about 11 acres with about 2,80,000 sq ft of built-up area. It has 287 guest rooms, restaurants, banquet and meeting space and other hotel facilities. The board had approved the MoU on 16 September 2026.
A binding MoU commits both sides to move to definitive sale documents. Juniper said it expects to sign those documents shortly and will file again when it does. The seller is not a related party of Juniper. Khopoli sits on the Mumbai to Pune corridor and next to the Imagicaa theme park, which feeds leisure demand. Juniper already runs large hotels in Mumbai and has been adding assets near the city.
Our view is that Juniper gains a large ready hotel close to Mumbai without a greenfield wait, while Imagicaaworld monetises a non-core lodging asset. Theme-park hotels live on weekend and holiday peaks, so cash flows will stay seasonal. What the filing leaves open is the closing date and any brand-change plan under Accor’s Novotel flag. Indian listed hotel buyers that sign binding MoUs have usually closed within a few quarters when financing is ready. We expect Juniper to file definitive agreements within six months and to keep the Novotel brand at opening under new ownership. Confidence: medium.
This is important for our readers because a 287-room hotel on the Mumbai corridor is changing hands. If you sell groups into Khopoli or Lonavala, ask Novotel Imagicaa whether ownership talks will affect 2027 allotments. If you hold Juniper shares, mark the ₹248 crore cash use against the next quarterly cash note. If you lend to Imagicaaworld, treat the MoU as a pending asset sale until the definitive filing lands.
