Radisson Opens Purple Palms Coorg
Radisson Hotel Group opened Purple Palms Resort and Spa Coorg, a member of Radisson Individuals Premier, with coverage dated 29 October 2026. The 78-room resort marks the group’s entry into Coorg. It sits on the Madikeri to Mysore road. Rooms come in Panorama, Courtyard and Peaberry Suite categories. Dining includes Elephants and Coffee and Banduk Bar. Cherry Hall spans 139 sq m and can hold up to 200 guests for meetings and weddings.
Radisson Individuals Premier is a soft brand for distinctive hotels that keep their own character while using Radisson’s sales system. Partners Narayan Viswanathan and Visalakshi Viswanathan of SLN Hotels and Resorts own the property. Nikhil Sharma, managing director and COO for South Asia, said Coorg demand is strong from Bengaluru, Mysore and Mangalore. The resort is about 100 km from Kannur airport, 101 km from Mysore airport and 261 km from Bengaluru airport. Coorg draws over 4.5 million visitors a year.
Our view is that Radisson gains a leisure foothold in a high-demand hill district, while SLN gains chain distribution without giving up the Purple Palms name. Independent coffee-estate stays will now compete with a soft-branded 78-room resort for Bengaluru weekend guests. The release does not give the exact opening day within late October, only the announcement date. Soft-brand leisure openings in India have usually needed a full season to stabilise online ratings. We expect Purple Palms to build weekend occupancy from Bengaluru through the 2026-27 winter, and Radisson to add another Individuals hotel in Karnataka within 18 months. Confidence: medium.
This is important for our readers because a branded 78-room resort is now open in Coorg. If you sell weekend packages from Bengaluru, request rates and wedding holds from Purple Palms this week. If you run an estate stay near Madikeri, compare your reviews and transfer times with the new resort. If you organise MICE trips to Coorg, inspect Cherry Hall before you commit 2027 dates.
