Hosteller Raises Series B Funding

The Hosteller raised ₹150 crore in a Series B round in April 2026. PROMAFT Partners and V3 Ventures co-led the round. ITI Growth Opportunities Fund, Merisis Wealth Trust and family offices also took part. Founder and chief executive Pranav Dangi said the capital will fund expansion, operations and brand building. The company aims for 25,000 beds across India within 36 months of the round.

Series B is a growth funding round after a company has proven its basic model. The Hosteller sells hostel and budget stays to young domestic travellers who want a step above bare-bones dorms. The firm said it had served about 20 lakh travellers over eleven years by the time of the raise. Hostel chains in India compete with OYO-style budget hotels and with unbranded backpacker stays. Fresh capital usually goes into new cities, tech and quality control.

Our view is that Hosteller gains runway to add beds faster than self-funded rivals, while investors bet that branded hostels can take share from both cheap hotels and informal stays. Occupancy in hostels is sensitive to student and weekend travel, so growth targets can slip if demand cools. Coverage at the time stressed the headline raise more than unit economics. Indian travel startups that raise Series B for bed expansion have often opened fewer markets than planned in year one. We expect Hosteller to cross new city openings through 2027, and to miss the full 25,000-bed target if execution slips. Confidence: low.

This is important for our readers because a large hostel brand is funded to grow bed count across India. If you own a backpacker hostel in a tourist town, compare your rates and reviews with The Hosteller this week. If you lease buildings for lodging, ask Hosteller about its city list for the next 12 months. If you track travel funding, treat April 2026 as the deal date, not as fresh news.
