Pride Hotels Plans 4,140 More Rooms

Pride Hotels is looking to add nearly 4,140 rooms to its 3,204 operating keys over the next 12 to 24 months, BusinessLine reported on 1 November 2026. That would take its operating hotels and pipeline to 7,341 rooms across 90 properties. Industry sources told the paper the group is lining up ₹350 to 400 crore of capital spending over two to three years. The longer goal is 10,000 rooms, including pipeline, by 2030. Chief executive Satyen Jain said the group will stay in mid-market, upper mid-market and upscale hotels rather than luxury.

Pride added 481 operating rooms in the past year, growing from 34 hotels and 2,723 rooms to 40 hotels and 3,204 rooms in September 2026. Its managed operating rooms rose 21.4% to 1,927, and its signed managed pipeline rose 51.2% to 2,268 rooms. A management contract is a deal where the owner funds the hotel and the brand earns fees for running it. FY26 revenue from operations rose 6.3% to ₹324.89 crore, and profit for shareholders rose 8.4% to ₹98.85 crore. Occupancy improved to 76% from 72.4%, and average room rate rose 3.1% to ₹6,773.

Our view is that Pride’s plan is credible on room count but weaker on fee income for now. Management fees rose 40.6% to ₹10.05 crore, yet they were only 3.1% of operating revenue, so owned Pride Plaza hotels still carry the business. Owners of mid-market hotels in tier two cities gain another brand bidding for their properties, while smaller regional chains face tougher competition for those deals. Coverage has not said how much of the pipeline is already under construction. Jain said new managed hotels take 18 to 24 months to stabilise, so fee growth will lag openings. We expect Pride to announce at least five new signings by March 2027 and to open its two suburban Mumbai hotels by the end of 2027. Confidence: medium.

This is important for our readers because Pride is chasing the same mid-market owners and travellers as many independent hotels. If you own a mid-market hotel, ask Pride and one rival brand for management terms this week. If you compete in Indore, Nagpur or Mumbai suburbs, review your rates for weddings and corporate groups. If you supply renovation work, note that Pride plans phased upgrades of six owned hotels.
